Firefighter

Job Title of Supervisor:                    Shift Officers

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • The Firefighter will be responsible for all Fire Suppression duties.

  • The Firefighter will be responsible for all Fire Prevention duties pertaining to that shift.

  • The Firefighter will be responsible for checking all first out response units and any assigned units to that shift.

  • The Firefighter will be responsible for doing all company pre-fire plans or inspections that are assigned to that shift.

  • The Firefighter will be responsible for the general upkeep of the station assigned to.

  • Act as Driver/Operator in the absence of the Station Engineer.

Engineer

Job Title of Supervisor:                    Shift Officers

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • The Engineer will be responsible for all Fire Suppression duties.

  • The Engineer will be responsible for all Fire Prevention duties pertaining to that shift.

  • The Engineer will be responsible for checking all first out response units and any assigned units to that shift.

  • The Engineer will be responsible for doing all company pre-fire plans or inspections that are assigned to that shift.

  • The Engineer will be responsible for the general upkeep of the station assigned to.

  • The Engineer will be responsible for the basic training needs of the firefighter assigned to his station, i.e.; streets, apparatus and equipment locations.

Aerial Operator

Job Title or Supervisor:                    Shift Captain

General Responsibilities

  • Specific Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently respond to emergency calls in order to provide initial fire attack, perform immediate rescues and provide emergency care.

  • Ensure as best as possible the safety of all personnel and the public at the     

  • Scene of any emergency.

  • Maintain proper inventory of equipment and supplies used in fire suppression

  • and other daily duties.

  • Keep detailed records in all areas of job responsibilities.

  • Operate all apparatus and equipment in a safe and efficient manner using properly accepted techniques.

  • Maintain communications as needed with other emergency agencies.

  • Attend in-service training, drills and all other training as may be required in the performance of the job.

  • Maintain quality public relations between the department and the community.

  • Perform fire ground operations in accordance with all written SOP’s of the department.

  • Acquire and retain knowledge of the location of streets, fire hydrants, business locations and types of building construction within the district.

  • Maintain knowledge of all fire department rules and regulations and effectively carry out the same.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees and the general public.

Station Lieutenant  

Job Title of Supervisor:                     Shift Lieutenant

 

General statement of duties:

Supervises the operations and activities of an individual station and assigned organizational programs.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining open lines of communication between all personnel assigned to the Station by utilizing proper debriefings and information sharing.

  • Ensures that all duties and special projects are completed in a timely manner by assigned personnel.

  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the general readiness of all assigned units and equipment.

  • Responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the station and/or proper reporting of any deficiencies.

  • Monitor response and daily policies to ensure effectiveness and recommend changes as needed.

  • Responsible for making assignments, monitoring progress, and insuring completion of all projects needed to maintain the station and equipment and to insure that all activities assigned to station personnel are completed.

  • Responsible for representing assigned station in the annual budget process.

Lieutenant

Job Title of Supervisor:                    Shift Captain

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Acting Shift Officer in the absence of Shift Captain.

  • Assists Shift Captain in coordinating schedules, duties, maintenance and overall administration of their shift.

  • Employee will be responsible for all related fire suppression duties.

  • Employee will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the general readiness of all assigned units and equipment.

  • Employee will be responsible for ensuring all medical assistance calls are answered in a timely fashion.

  • Employee will be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the station.

Shift Captain

 

General Responsibilities:

Fire and Life Safety Educator

Job Title of Supervisor:                               Fire Marshal

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Employee will be responsible for conducting fire inspections and fire prevention programs.

  • Employee will oversee and coordinate presentations, lectures, programs etc., to personnel, civic groups, schools, etc.

Fire Marshal

Job Title of Supervisor:                                Administrative Asst. Chief

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Employee will be responsible for all fire inspection and prevention duties.

  • Employee will be responsible for fire suppression duties including first response to emergency alarms.

Administrative Assistant

Job Title of Supervisor:                          Assistant Fire Chief

 

General Responsibilities:

 

The Administrative Assistant has many assignments that include payroll, tax reporting, record keeping, correspondence, reports and many other tasks and duties that may not be listed below.  This position is vital to the overall mission of the department and requires an individual that is team oriented.
