Station Information:
Station 1
is located at 2761 South Highway 14 in the Pelham community;
this station
serves
as
the district headquarters and houses the administrative offices
and fire apparatus and personnel for the headquarters area.
Administrative
offices include that of the district Board of Commissioners,
the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire
Inspector, Training Officer and duty officers.
The station
recently underwent an addition that added one truck bay,
a
training room, exercise room, storage, rest room and office
space. The station was originally constructed in 1989.
The
station is manned by two firefighters and the shift captain
24 hours per day and a daytime staff of four.

Engine 11 | 1997 Pierce Quantum Custom Fire Engine
Powered by a Detroit Series 60, 430 hp Diesel Engine, Allison
Automatic Transmission with a 2000 Gallon Per Minute (GPM)
Waterous Pump. It has a 750 gallon water tank.
The truck
was manufactured by the Pierce Manufacturing Company, in
Appleton Wisconsin and bought through Spartan Fire & Emergency
Apparatus in Spartanburg, SC.
The truck has a full compliment of equipment on the “Rescue
Style” body and features a top-mount pump operator’s panel,
front bumper line, a personnel capacity of 6 firefighters. This
unit also carries a Cairns, Viper color indicating thermal imaging
camera
for locating fire victims and hot spots. |

2006 Polaris Ranger
This unit was purchased in 2006 through a grant from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. The unit is 4 wheel drive, has a front mounted 4,000lb. winch, it is capable of towing our rescue boats to areas that are inaccessible by other vehicles. It is also equipped with patient transport capabilities.

M-11 | Medical, Rescue and First Response Truck
This truck is a 1999 Ford F-550 Chassis, with a Power Stroke
7.3 Diesel Engine.The equipment body on this unit was manufactured
by Fire Equipment Services Co. in Sumter, SC.
The unit is equipped
with a 9000 lb. winch, medical equipment, extrication equipment
(including the Jaws of Life), a 5 kilowatt power generator,
a NightScan 1500 watt light tower, a 200 gallon foam system,
spill containment equipment and other specialized fire
and rescue equipment.

Fire Marshal's Vehicle
2001 Ford Taurus Fire marshal’s Vehicle, used by
the Fire Marshal for daily use in the Inspection and fire
prevention programs.

Engine 12 | 1995 International Pumper/Tanker
This unit is also housed at HQ and serves as a tanker for
rural water supply applications and as a reserve pumper
to cover other front-line engines when they are out of
service for repair or maintenance.
It is a 1995 commercial
chassis truck with an International diesel engine and
an Allison automatic transmission. The body and truck was
manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing and has a 1250 gallon
water tank and a 1250 GPM Waterous Pump.
It is also equipped
with a quick dump and dual rear tank fill valves. The water
tanker equipment on this truck is to serve the rural areas
of the district where water from fire hydrants and water
mains is not available. |

Ladder 11 | 2003 Pierce 100’ Platform Truck
This is currently the most recent addition to the apparatus
fleet and replaces a 30 year old 85 foot ladder truck that
was purchased used in 1993.
The new truck is a Pierce Dash
100’ Aerial Platform truck with a Custom cab and
chassis, Detroit Series 60 500HP engine, Allison EVS 4000
automatic transmission, a 300 gallon water tank, and a
2000 GPM Waterous single stage pump.
The truck is fully
equipped with two elevated master streams capable of flowing
the full 2000 GPM of water, supplied air breathing system
to the basket, fully multiplexed electronics, ABS brakes,
Pierce Command Zone system, Independent front suspension
and full compliment of ladder truck equipment. This truck
went in service in August of 2003. |

Utility 11 | 2005 Ford F-250
This truck is used by the Shift supervisors and other personal
as a general duty light truck for errands, towing, and
other daily activities. The unit is gas powered, equipped
with 4-wheel drive, towing package and emergency warning
equipment. |

Car 2 | 2006 Chevy Impala
This is a staff vehicle that is driven by the Assistant
Chief of Adminstration. |

Car 9 | 2004 Ford Expedition
This unit is assigned to the on duty shift officer for response and general
duties. The vehicle is equipped with 2-VHF radios, 1-UHF radio, a command
console (provided by and installed by Light-n-up) in the rear which
contains 2-dry erase boards, maps, accountability board, touch-n-trac and
numerous reference materials. |

Car 10 | 2003 BMW 528i Touring Sedan
This is the fire chief’s vehicle and is driven daily
for use as a staff vehicle. This car is provided at no
cost to the District (other than fuel, insurance and maintenance)
by the BMW Manufacturing Company. |

Station 2- Pleasant Grove

|
Station Information:
Station 2 was originally constructed
in 1982 to serve the Pleasant Grove and surrounding areas.
The Station has been through a couple renovations over the
years, the latest in 2001 due to the widening of Highway
14.
This station houses 1 engine and the departments rescue
boat. Staffed by 2 firefighters 24 hours per day.

Engine 21 | 1999 Pierce Saber Pumper
Powered by a Detroit Series 40 300 HP Engine, Allison MD-3060
Automatic Transmission, 1250 GPM Waterous Pump and a 1000
gallon water tank. The truck was manufactured by Pierce
Manufacturing Co. in Appleton, Wisconsin. |

Rescue Boat 1 | 1998 Avon Inflatable Rescue Boat
This is a 1998 Avon inflatable semi-rigid floor rescue
boat. The boat is equipped with a Johnson gas powered 20
HP motor and full water rescue equipment.
The boat is housed
at station 2 for use anywhere within the district.

Station 3- Five Forks Station |
|
Station Information: Station 3 was constructed in 1988
and covers the southern area of the District. This area is
mostly comprised of residential, light commercial and assembly
type structures.
Station three houses one engine and one service
truck and is manned 24 hours per day with two firefighters.
The engine at station 3 is equipped with a light-duty ladder
and elevated master stream to assist with protecting structures
of the type in the area.

Engine 31 | 2001 KME 55’ Firestix Water Tower
This unit is a 5-man cab pumper/water tower powered by
a Detroit 50-series, 350 HP diesel engine, automatic transmission,
a 1500 GPM Waterous pump, 650 gallon water tank, an Onan
8.0 KW hydraulic generator, elevated master stream nozzle,
remote water and ladder controls and a thermal imaging
camera.
The custom cab and chassis is a KME “Excel” pumper
and was manufactured by KME Fire Apparatus in Nesquehoning,
PA.
The unit was purchased through Slagle’s Fire Equipment
and Supply out of Cayce, SC.

M-31 | 1992 International Rescue/Service Truck
This unit is a 5-man cab Service truck that is equipped
with a full range of service equipment for specialized
operations.
The Chassis is a 1992 International/ Hackney
Rescue body service truck. The unit is actually a refurbished
beverage body that was rebuilt for the current use. The
original refurb was done by Hackney& Sons, Inc. in
Washington NC.
The truck is equipped with a breathing air fill station,
a command module, extrication equipment, confined space
rescue equipment, high level rescue equipment, spill control
equipment, a 10 KW electric generator, light tower, auxiliary
lighting, portable generators, and full service truck equipment.

Station 4- Brockman McClimon
Road Station |

Station Information:
Station 4 is a shared facility with the City of Greer Fire Department and Spartanburg County EMS and has
accommodations for several functions for the department and
community. It houses one engine, a reserve fire engine, a
Spartanburg County EMS QRV (Quick Response Vehicle) and houses
the Departments’ maintenance shop.
The station is staffed
with two firefighters 24 hours a day and a fulltime mechanic
that works days.

Engine 41 | 1991 Pierce Dash Pumper
This 6-man Custom Fire Truck is powered by a Detroit 6V-92TA
350 HP diesel engine and is equipped with an Allison Automatic
transmission, a 1250 GPM Waterous pump, a 1,000 gallon
water tank, 4-door cab and a full compliment of equipment.

Brush 41 | Grass and Woods Fires Truck
Brush 41 is a 1988 GMC 4x4 1-ton truck. Unit was recently
refurbished by PBFD personnel with a new tank, pump and
rear body. The truck is housed at Station 4 and responds
District wide as needed for grass and woods fires.
This truck was used to assist the State of Florida in battling
one of their worst Wildfire seasons in 1995.

M-18| Spartanburg EMS Quick Response Vehicle
Station 4 also houses a QRV unit, Medic 18 that is owned
and operated by Spartanburg County EMS (Emergency Medical
Services).
This vehicle responds from our station with
a Paramedic to stabilize patients until a transport ambulance
can arrive. Medic 18 covers the entire Spartanburg County
portion of our district as well as parts of Greer, Reidville,
Woodruff, the GSP Airport, BMW and back-up to other areas
on the western side of Spartanburg County.
The truck carries
Advanced Emergency Medical Equipment and is manned with
one Paramedic on a 24 hour a day basis.
